A Beer Culture like no other

BEER CULTURE IS OUR HALLMARK. IT GUIDES US IN OUR BREWING KNOW-HOW AND HAS ACCOMPANIED US SINCE 1906

At Estrella Galicia we care about the beer from conception until the moment it touches the glass – and have done so for over 116 years!. From using the highest-quality ingredients, to the crucial brewing to bottling time to the perfect pour – we work with distributors and on trade customers to share our process, knowledge and values.

The secret to the success of our beers lies in the meticulous care and attention to detail that we apply to every beer. We use top quality raw materials to create a unique beer, with personality and traits that awaken the senses: through taste, aroma, colour and brightness.

In Estrella Galicia we share a passion for beer brewing. Our beer culture goes back four generations of producing beers with passion and care.

Our Water

The water we use at Estrella Galicia comes from a single source in a nature reserve here in our home town: A Coruña. Its chemical composition is ideal for brewing our beers.

Extremely important, because beer is  about 90% water and also because it is one of humanity’s greatest natural assets. This is why we are committed to reducing consumption by using it consciously and investing in technology to optimize our production.

Cereal

We may use malted or unmalted wheat, rye, oats, or corn…but we always use barley.

We use Pilsen malt and special malt to create a unique beer, with personality and characteristics that awaken your senses through taste, aroma, colour and brightness. Also, some of our recipes can contain a bit of corn.

Hops

This natural preservative adds bitterness, aroma, and flavor to beer

We use several varieties of hops , including Nugget, Perle and Sladek.

We even have our own hop field here in Coruña – a project dear to our hearts that we’ve been working on since 2003

Yeast

Yeast is directly responsible for the characteristics on the taste and aroma of the final product.

We use a variety, exclusive to our beers, from the species Sacchromyces uvarum that we store in a yeast bank in Germany.

We’ve been brewing our traditional family recipe with the same ingredients and same method since 1906, so you can rely on us to deliver that unique Galician flavour like no other, every single time.
